So…Much…Music!

I added my first streamer to my system about 8 months ago. This is not about the unit I bought. But rather the discovery of a world of new to me music. There is soooooo much that I had never heard!
My CD collection is just over 2,000 titles. Yes there are many dogs in there. But it mostly titles I like. But when I got the streamer, oh boy. So much more to discover!
I still listen to CD’s every day. In fact I bought a new player a couple months ago. But I am so happy with all the new to me music I’m finding via streaming. Love it!!
Anyway, thanks for listening to me.

I miss going to the record store and flipping through albums.

I stream every day and drop an LP a few times a week. The variety and quality of music available seems endless.

I had the same response when I signed up for Spotify Premium lossless.  So much music!  Just about anything you can think of is there.

Over too many moves including some out of country, I put all my CDs on hard drive and my brother got my vinyl. Streaming was practical for a couple decades, though the tools it gave me to discover new artists in the genres I love and those I was made more brave to discover were absolutely transformative. Quality of the Stream, as you know, has only improved.

Just after COVID, I got my vinyl albums back and now love again playing vinyl. Combining the Two Worlds is next level. Now, I shop online for vinyl, having the opportunity for a quick listen on stream before I purchase. It's like having those old CD shops where you could hear the disc before you bought only with vinyl!

On many occasions I find the stream enough and avoid the purchase, better channeling the money into getting gear I need, or better vinyl quality.

Now owning 100,000,000 million songs across all formats, when I have gotten through them all, I'll let you know my favorite!

Yes, so much to find.
We also have Spotify Premium, lossless.  Its great.
I really like having a Bluetooth speaker in my garage workshop, so I get to stream and decent sound while in my garage, with the added bonus of having the cellphone with me too..  I think we get around 5 phone calls a week, so I don't want to miss them.

I may switch to Qobuz, or another service, just to see how they compare?

I'm not sure I have it in me to AB the different streaming services, but I have been AB comparing vinyl to Spotify lossless. I find some remasters on Spotify blow away even some NM first pressings I have on vinyl. No way I can afford upgrading to new vinyl, these days, so I'm grateful for the access to the remasters on streaming. It seems to me that Spotify does a fair job of curating, in that regard. Sometimes it preserves the original pressing, sometimes it offers the remaster, seemingly inline with community opinion of what is best. What do you guys think? How is curation on the other streaming services?
