Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it is Environmentally IRRESPONSIBLE to leave your equipment on for long periods of time, before or after, or truly despicable, ON all the time!

On, 20 mins, listen, done, off!

Doctors, Lawyers, Trust Fund Kiddos, come on now.

Where were you in 1970?, I was there in Manhattan (went to college at Pratt in Brooklyn 1966-1970)

Have u put in solar panels at your house to

12 years ago. 2/3rds of houses on my block now have solar.

I used to leave my class A Pass amps on but put them in standby now.  I was surprised to learn of the cost of running them for a year.

  • Annual Usage (24/7): 17.76 kWh \(\times \) 365 days = ~6,482 kWh/year.

Based on a national average of $0.15 per kWh, running a pair 24/7 costs roughly $970 - $1,100 per year

Have to balance that against the wear and tear of the on/off cycle.  Might leave them on daytime/evenings in the cooler months to offset the cost of running the HVAC.

Based on where we live in California electricity has an average const of $0.43 per kWh so running a pair of class A Pass amps 24/7 costs roughly $2780 per year. How you like 'dem apples?

@greenngoldcheesehead - Bernie Sanders and Al Gore are 'elites' just like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Taylor Swift in terms of riches? Really? Interesting you don't mention any political people on the other side of the political spectrum. But hey, it's all a hoax anyway - the boss says so; it's windmills that are the problem. .

stupidity has arrived (a while ago) and they are winning @larsman :)

I think windmills use more electricity than they generate and they cause whale deaths in numbers never seen before.
