Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it is Environmentally IRRESPONSIBLE to leave your equipment on for long periods of time, before or after, or truly despicable, ON all the time!

On, 20 mins, listen, done, off!

Doctors, Lawyers, Trust Fund Kiddos, come on now.

Where were you in 1970?, I was there in Manhattan (went to college at Pratt in Brooklyn 1966-1970)

If the Lone Ranger was Japanese, do you think Tonto would have called him

Kemo-wasabe?

"Have u put in solar panels at your house to help generate power and make yourself energy self-sufficient?  If not, then I dont think you have the credibility to chastise others."

Why "chastise" anyone, unless you're member of the communist cabal that not only suggests but mandates their members rat on their family's, each other and everyone not toeing whatever the party-line du jour is?

You do you, I'll do me and we'll either agree, or agree to disagree.

Solar panels, wells (oil or water), wind mills, rodents on a treadmill, sucking utility power to do what and as you please and pay for, why should anyone care, let alone judge or heaven forbid, chastise?

The same applies to audio.  We all have our preferences in music and playback equipment and how we would like our speakers, rooms and headphones to sound.

If you're not listening to what I prefer on the equipment I prefer, "chastising" should be the least of our thoughts.  How about, happy, happy, joy, joy for your joy and individualism?

That's what a free high-trust (golden rule) based society and country provides: freedom of thought, freedom of actions, freedom of speech, freedom to defend yourself and loved ones, freedom to do foolish and even dangerous pass-times, things that don't negatively impact others. Mountain climbing, cliff diving or tearing-off the mattress/furniture sticker anyone?

Have u put in solar panels at your house to

12 years ago. 2/3rds of houses on my block now have solar.

I used to leave my class A Pass amps on but put them in standby now.  I was surprised to learn of the cost of running them for a year.

  • Annual Usage (24/7): 17.76 kWh \(\times \) 365 days = ~6,482 kWh/year.

Based on a national average of $0.15 per kWh, running a pair 24/7 costs roughly $970 - $1,100 per year

Have to balance that against the wear and tear of the on/off cycle.  Might leave them on daytime/evenings in the cooler months to offset the cost of running the HVAC.

Based on where we live in California electricity has an average const of $0.43 per kWh so running a pair of class A Pass amps 24/7 costs roughly $2780 per year. How you like 'dem apples?
