Upgrade from B&W 802D1 to Focal Utopia Scala Evo

If you had the chance to upgrade from  the B&W 802D1 to the  FOCAL UTOPIA SCALA EVO, which would you choose and why?

I'm using Mark Levinson SACD 5101 player, BHK preamplifier, and BHK 300 monoblocks.

When auditioned them, they used Aurender streamer with an auxiliary power supply and a stand-alone DAC. They all used Pass Lab preamplifier and Pass Lab monoblocks of some sort.

The room was also larger than mine.

Wait. Are these brand new speakers ? If so you will need several months for proper break in! My Rockports sounded terrible too in the beginning. Four months later amazing!! Patience grasshopper. We also have Kanta 3s in our home theatre and they sound great too

Sorry to hear.  The real problem is the dealer.  Fortunately the local dealers I’ve dealt with stand behind their products and they have earned my repeat business as a result of their fair business practices.  The lesson is to understand up front if you buy something and it doesn’t work out what their return policy is.  Best of luck.

Bingo! I had the same thoughts. I feel the OP is making a hasty decision.

Delivered last Friday, sound NO WHERE near as good as my B&W 802D1 speakers.

What does that even mean? You have not specified "which" aspect of the Focal you are referring to? How many hours on the speakers?

"Break-in" is a real thing when it comes to such high-end speakers. Give them some time, adjust their positions. There are other forums you can read, where people have been thrilled with these speakers.Your electronics also seems to be fine. So, all I can think of what might be missing is - patience.
