Looking for a new preamp Max $5k

Hi All!

I'm new here and this is my 1st post.

As the title says, I'm looking for a new preamp as part of a new system I'm putting together.

So, decided on Klipsch Cornwall IV, Parasound Halo 21a+

What I want in the preamp:

SS or Tube is an option, that decision will be finalized by listening to the combo if possible

All analog...No DAC

Tape Loop

At least 4 inputs Plus

MM & MC phono input

XLR in and out are fine but not required

Remote that controls Volume, Bass and Treble, Mute

A tuner would be fantastic!!!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something and I'm sure all here will point me to some other options I'd want.

Thanks!!!

The rebooted Quad 33 has most of what you are asking for.
All analog, XLR in/out, MM/MC, remote vol, balance, even some rather unique tone controls. Good headphone amp too. Well reviewed by many. Otherwise a McIntosh C-49…although that has a DAC.  I like small things so I went with the 33.

I know this unit i will mention is not high-end. But it is actually pretty good. You probably won’t consider it because it wouldn’t measure like a $5000 pre, but many others with less $ should.

AND... it has all most all your requirements.

The PARASOUND NEW CLASSIC 200. Yup.

"What I want in the preamp:"

SS or Tube is an option, that decision will be finalized by listening to the combo if possible..       SS

All analog...No DAC     it does have a DAC

Tape Loop                    YES

At least 4 inputs Plus   3 ANOLOG + 1 MM/MC (several settings) that can be also be switched to just another anolog input

MM & MC phono input  YES

XLR in and out are fine but not required   no XLR

Remote that controls Volume, Bass and Treble, Mute     The remote .......... an AMAZING REMOTE .... amazing.....  you can control bass, treble and subwoofer levels with it. Balance control. Sub-woofer on/off. Back light On/off when you need it. And,, the feel is tactile. everything is where it should be. After only one month with it i could change almost everything without looking at it.

Worth a look at least.

Blah Blah.

It a good pre. Not HI-end but works as a great control centre and is silent/black background to my ears.

A tuner would be fantastic!!!  Ha ha ha,,, you funny!

Thanks for the suggestion for the P5 and New Classic, unfortunately both have a DAC.
