Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it is Environmentally IRRESPONSIBLE to leave your equipment on for long periods of time, before or after, or truly despicable, ON all the time!

On, 20 mins, listen, done, off!

Doctors, Lawyers, Trust Fund Kiddos, come on now.

Where were you in 1970?, I was there in Manhattan (went to college at Pratt in Brooklyn 1966-1970)

I believe 20 min warm-up is enough for happy listening.

I expected some might post FACTUAL info about longer warm up,

Where is the source that says it's correct to leave it ON ALL THE TIME?

How can you not know that's WRONG.

hide your d*ad girlfriend in a suitcase and skip the country day again?

I missed another one.

I always turn my main system off when not listening...  it's all tube so I only fire it up when I have a few hours to kill.

My second system get used 80% of the time.  It's best feature?   The amp turns off 20 minutes after no signal from the source.  I turn off the source or pause my streamer and it goes to sleep.

If a significant environmental concern is a turned-on amp, you miss the ultimate cause by a mile:

Too many humans on the planet. The one thing that actually makes a difference is not having children. VERY unpopular fact, I know. To quote Al Gore "An inconvenient truth". All the rest is window dressing.

I have no children, fly around the world, water my garden, eat meat (humans are omnivores), etc. and still have a better eco-balance than anybody with a child, who added to human overpopulation of the planet.

And no, I'm not a planet hater. Actually biology Ph.D., active in biodiversity field, on one of the IUCN specialist groups.

@oberoniaomnia I’m glad I found someone with a sound mind. You are speaking the truth. And the truth hurts.

If only some of the people in this thread who are acting all high and mighty look at the trash they throw away in a week.... It would surprise 99% of them.

Not having children is extreme but 1-2 is plenty enough. Why are people having 9 and no money to feed the kids. But if you want my ultimate honest opinion, most people aren't fitting parents.
