I want to upgrade my Turntable to something heavier

I don't get why you need a heavier TT other than the obvious, For the dogs

But I get it if you are retiring soon

I made the Jump to VPI and not regretting it. choose wisely. Dr Feickert tables are great and Lastly Clear audio. I would stay away from Rega simply because it uses the principle of lightweight but rigid. I owned a fully modded P6 (new with all the bangs and whistles) and when i got the VPI super Prime, for me, the sound it presented was at another level. another brand is Kuzma.

Well, done. wont regret that specially you'll be getting the ML, (mine was the Blue)

suggest that you look into a Transformer and a very good Phono pre-amp

and seriously, you do not need to upgrade the TT. it has all you need.

just enjoy the music and make sure you install the Cart really well

Also, if you do not like to deal with the Uni pivot arm, there is a VPI product that fixes that problem

@joeycastillo when I bought the Umami Blue I also ordered the Soundsmith Counter Intuitive for my VPI unipivot arm. I don’t find it to be a solution but it added a bit of weight which was welcome with the Blue on a 12” tonearm. I love this turntable but if I upgrade I will go up the VPI line to a gimbal arm. Or just swap the arm out. Unipivot is a royal PIA

Unipivot love Is an acquired taste like Kimchi. Gimbal is an easy switch.

VPI used to have arms with blems at discount- might be worth a call.

The VPI unipivot is low tech, but my Classic/Lyra entertain me enough from jumping ship to something entirely different😂  

@tablejockey you won’t hear me complaining about sound quality. I love it. Setting vtf and azimuth is something else on these arms. Good thing is just a one time deal per cartridge more or less, and I have enough bourbon to calm me down. Lol

Forget regular kimchi…try kimchi radish. The after effects are rather peculiar…
