Aurender vs Nagra

Anyone compared N200 against the Nagra streamer?

@curiousjim I currently have a Bryston BDP-3 which is a bit complicated to use ( must be turned on after the Dac, if I change input it must be turned off, set the Dac in USB ready mode and turn it on again)

The N200 is probably very good and I’m not willing to spend more money than this on a streamer. The questions is which is better, N200 or the Nagra 🤔

@swede58

I understood completely. Somehow I assumed you had a N200 and I ran with it.

Sorry.

May I also suggest, Bricasti M5 Network Player. I am with @audphile1 on high priced streamers. The gains are minimal at best vs asking price. On the flip side, network players bring a lot more flexibility to the table especially when it comes to the end-user interface and overall usability.

I have had my Aurender N20 for the past 18 months....a keeper. Initially a learning curve on the Conductor App (Aurender), integrated so well to each source = seamless path of my digital side. Exceptional synergy with my Dac (Berkley Audio). I also uploaded all my CDs to the N20 too = best of both worlds....my music library and streaming.  Additionally, upgraded the power & AES cables = notable and worthy upgrades. Would offer to audition or find a local dealer for the Aurender product line; they have a system for each price-point.  Their customer service is excellent.

The Nagra streamer must be very good because it is the same one as the Playback Designs low cost one. However, the Nagra is 2x more expensive than the Playback Design but likely repackaged in Switzerland to explain the difference in price.

I owned the PBD Stream-IF which was the previous low cost PBD streamer. Nagra had the equivalent  streamer.

The principle of PBD, Andreas Koch, said on an interview that Nagra gets the 3rd best PBD boards for their very expensive DAC which is 2x more $$$ than the PBD Dream DAC at $26k. I was not a fan of the Dream DAC, too laid back.
