Amir of ASR admitted 1 cable sounded better than the other. NOT CLICKBAIT

There is a recent thread inquiring about the Puritan PSM156, and someone lead to another product the Niagara 1200. Long story short. I come across a review of Amir admitting the "Generic" cable sound better than the Audioquest chain.

If 1 cable can sound better than another, and Amir has admitted to it. Is there really anything left to discuss except that we have been right all along?

Proof: Go to the "Listening Test" of the review.

No cable have a sound of their own.

Guess why ?

A clue : they are parts of a whole called sound by acoustics...

The  string of a violin had no sound of his own, it depend of many parameters as his diameter, composition, tension, etc ...

An audio cable is a link in a vibrating sound source giving to it or adding to it  his own changing specific  parameters... Then a specific sound ... because the human ears is very sensible to change  qualities .... A field well investigated now... See video by Milind Kunchur in my new thread...

A second funny point. AG members fault Amir for not listening to products. Now you have to admit he DOES listen to products. Just the results, taking psychoacoustics into account, are not the way AG likes it. Ooops. LOL!

@mapman All wires DO NOT, repeat, Do NOT sound the same.  There I said it.  Do I go viral now? 🏆

Sure. Now I want to go viral. So, here goes:

I tried the banana test with my cables – running a wire through a banana as a conductor – and I noticed that unripe bananas sounded leaner with tauter bass, while ripe bananas sounded musical, organic, and fuller in the mid-bass region.

The problem is that bananas ripen, and the portable fridge I have the banana in adds noise to the system. Sigh.

"The power of suggestion".

What Amir is saying is that all humans are flawed. Including him. Without doing a proper blind test anyone one can be fooled.into thinking they can hear a difference. Influences like price, appearance or even a suggestion from a trusted friend or source.

Once a person is convinced they hear a difference they put up a defensive wall. Especially after they spent a lot of money on a cable. No one wants to be made a fool of.

Measurements taken are not enough proof for them. Certainly there is something lacking in the data because they use their ears to hear the difference. The thing they fear the most is a blind test.

I stopped doing blind taste tests for wine. People got  downright angry when they picked the cheap wine over their expensive one. They accused me of altering the labels to make them look foolish. They were absolutely positive they were right in their thinking and would not accept the facts proven to them. Humans.
