Should Room Acoustics be an Audiogon ‘topic’?

It may be acceptable but I'm not a proponent of anyone judging SQ based on their personal biases on someone else's system and preferences.

Absolutely it should be a topic, and it's frankly ridiculous that it isn't already. I've been a long time visitor and contributor, and I am just about finished with a custom media/audio room. Getting good information from Audiogon was not nearly as easy as say help with a speaker request. It required countless visits to hundreds of disparate sites, with information I had no clue was accurate or not.

Proper room ratios, soundproofing, reflections types/importance/locations, diffusion vs. absorption (too much/too little), size/location/thickness/shape of diffusers/absorbers, carpet types (I did not know some carpet is actually reflective), carpet pad types, pad and carpet thickness, window treatments, problems with windows and TV in audio room, coupling/decoupling, damping, Green Glue/Mass Loaded Vinyl, multi layer drywall, insulation types/amounts, bass management, passive vs. active, how different frequencies react to all of the above, where and how to place all of the above, STC rating, most cost effective way of reaching better STC levels, Room EQ Wizard (REW) software/use, digital signal processing (DSP), how all of the above works differently with floor standing or stand mounted sealed or ported box/open baffle/horns/, proper speaker placement......and much more.

The build has taken two years (longer due to a fired lazy contractor and lack of  concise information), and should be completed before the beginning of June. I'd love to have a place to share and discuss what works and what doesn't, and equally importantly cost effectiveness. Maybe more people would use treatment if the information was readily available and easy to understand.
