I had the dude’s tad OG reference for 15+ years....Currently, have his Adante series...and the trickle down tad model. From that reference point, ~34k is actually not that bad...(the next alternative would be the Mofi v10 master edition for 8k, of course, the mofi is a bit of a steal actually). The demo was nice...but, i’d like to put the new speaker on a slightly taller stand perhaps, still confused about the short crap stand...It was kinda busy, couldn’t talk to him much yet...Nevertheless, the dude slayed anything ’field coil’ i’ve ever heard....If you want field coil perfected, this is it....(everything else is numb nut field coil category)

I was wondering about that - indeed one would almost call them feet rather than stands. The acoustic center looks to be below ear level in a more typically seated position (raising them a further ~5" from the floor would put them in a more ideal position, I believe), which the backward tilt won't be able to conceal. Going by some videos they come off a bit hot sounding in the highs - was that something you noticed in your auditioning them? |
