JPlay App

I just tried the new JPLAY app that I read about on 6moons. It’s clearly sounds better than Roon in my system. Looks like I’ll be using it from now on. Free 14 day trial, give it a shot.

@jackd

Does it have an iPad specific app, or is it just the iPhone app made to display bigger? IOW, does it take advantage of the extra screen real estate?

In any case, I use my desktop Mac and MacBook Air to control Roon and/or Qobuz Connect. If JPlay doesn’t have a macOS app then I’m not all that interested. I mostly don’t use my iPad anymore and will likely give it to my wife, who wants to read books on it.

@dwette I have and use jplay installed on iPhone and iPad. It doesn’t have to be used with iphone only. Full screen on iPad.

As I said above, I don’t use an iPad anymore. No matter, Roon works just fine for me, and I prefer using a desktop app on my MacBook Air.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that JPLAY 1.4.1 has just been released and is now available on the App Store. This is one of our biggest updates in a while — here's what's new:

- HQPlayer library support — the integration many of you have been asking for. You can now browse and control your HQPlayer library directly from JPLAY.
- New History screen — quickly revisit everything you've played.
- Smart playlists — dynamic playlists created automatically based on filters.
- Filter library items by tags — find what you want, faster.
- Multiselection improvements — manage your library and queues with less friction.
- My Library filters preserved between app launches — no more reconfiguring filters every time you open the app.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements across the app.

Each of the features really deserves more than a single line, so I'll be following up with dedicated posts covering them over the next few days.

As always, thank you to everyone who sent feedback, bug reports, and feature requests — many of the changes in this release came directly from your suggestions. Keep it coming!

Any questions or feedback on 1.4.1, please share in this thread.
