Should Room Acoustics be an Audiogon ‘topic’?

The available topics on Audiogon do not include Room Acoustics. This area is as important as any other, and has a far greater impact on what we hear than amps, preamps, and cables put together, IMO. Does anyone know how to lobby to include it? Do I need to start a petition? ; )

Yes- Room Acoustics is important.

Topics can include first reflections points, corner bass controls, acoustic room treatment types and sources, room measurement softwares, room acoustic measuring companies, window/tv/floor treatments….

Not that hard. Tens minutes to set up and put away. Christmas tree not included.

Throw two of those panels on the ceiling and see what happens. There’s a lot of reflection dancing on the ceiling.

Room acoustics is the basis to understanding the performance of your system. Without it, you are just guessing. Having a dedicated topic for it would be helpful for the ones who care to experience with it. However many will never care for it mainly because they are in no position to deal with it for various reasons. That's fine. A dedicated topic would be an easy way for them to bypass these conversations. For the ones who care, after spending the last ten years planning, building and acoustically treating my house of stereo, I share plenty of info about it under my system. If you take the time to go through the process, it will give you plenty of ideas about some of the possibilities that exist. It does take a serious commitment. It's a lot more intense than upgrading equipment but much more satisfying in the end. Enjoy the journey.
