Impex Records

Any yays or nays with regards to Impex Records albums?

I know that they’ve been around for 10+ years but I have never purchased any of their LP’s.

Are they worth the $ and how much of a difference is there between their LP’s and for lack of a better description, stock LP’s?

@tomic601 correcto mundo!
As to Getz, I was actually referring to impex onestep Getz/Gilberto. I’ll contact them and see if that’s awaiting repress or done for good. If impex is done I’ll pick up the Analog Productions version. I’m sure it’ll be amazing. Have not heard a bad AP pressing yet.

Even though I have an excellent vinyl set-up, I opted for the SACD release of “Sing and Dance with Frank Sinatra” being that I have an excellent SACD machine and didn’t want to spend the extra $100. The SACD release sounds outstanding and I couldn’t imagine a 1949-50 recording sounding better!  Please let us all know how the Impex one-step all-analog version sounds and if I may be missing anything!

I have three Impex pressings. Two are of Jascha Heifetz and one is of Frank Sinatra. They're all mono and sound very good to me. The Heifetz Beethoven Sonatas can sound slightly bright in spots but that could be my cartridge also. So whether they're all consistent, probably not. I compared the Beethoven Heifetz to the original RCA mono and believe the Impex remaster to be considerably better. It was apparent that RCA used filtering that was omitted in the Impex process. I also have vinyl from Analogphonic and Speakers Corner and find them all to be pretty similar.
