It’s almost warm there? It just keeps snowing here. I love winter - really do. But it can be done now.
Roon Issues - Not able to play certain tracks
I have been running into this issue when Roon is in the radio mode where spontaneously it runs into a track it can’t play. It just sits there trying to play it.
When I go to that album and attempt to manually play that same track on Qobuz the result is the same - it won’t play. Plays other tracks from the albums just fine.
If I go back to Roon radio and skip that track the next song is played no issues.
No such problems with Tidal.
I have rebooted the Roon Nucleus One, rebooted my network, rebooted my DAC.
Even signed out of streaming services and signed back in. No bueno. This is in addition to it being sluggish and requiring an almost daily reboot to maintain sound quality and proper operating speed. Now this…
Anyone else with this problem?

Yes, ssame, constant hang ups, losing the connected device, spinning for ten minutes trying to load a song, sudden loss of connections- it's a nightmare and HUGELY annoying. I'm cancelling Roon- I've hardwired the entire system and still issues, hours o ftech support on their forums and with the tech people, they can't ever concretely explain it. I'm exhausted by it. |
Roon indicates a new release this month coming with performance improvements. Might be worth waiting for. I had those issues. Moving to new 15th gen Asus NuC (<$1k) has resolved it. Runs like a dream now. Qobuz issue appears resolved now with latest release. The key to Roon is use suitable hardware for the core and good network connections. |
@mapman how long has your new NUC build been running? Do you ever power cycle it? Btw, I’ve run Roon since 2018 over various classes of machines and it always seems to start off its new install life ok// then a couple months go by and it’s back to the same shenanigans. I hope yours is solid this time!! cheers |
@audiopacer about 1 month now. Windows system monitor indicates the Asus NUC is not even breaking a sweat running it. Roon performance is snappy and reliable reflecting that. Windows box I used prior was years old and Roon easily peaked out the cpu . Performance was ok not great and had degraded further in recent months forcing a change. |
