You are ignoring that OP bought an Ortofon Cartridge, thankfully the height is designed to match Rega's 14mm height so no shims are needed, thus VTA should automatically be correct.

However, it has two holes, located in it's body, perhaps differently than Rega cartridges.

So, the auto locating 3 point attachment that Rega has designed will not automatically locate this cartridge.

Thus, what I am asking for is NEEDED to do it right.

Anyone with a RB880 Protractor could simply measure the distance from centerline of spindle to the two null points on the protractor, and TELL US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to me that everyone is so busy resisting my request and I am simply saying: "I could not properly mount his cartridge without knowing the two null point distances"

Recently, there have been SEVERAL threads about non-rega cartridges on Rega TT’s. SEVERAL!!!!!!

People want Rega TT’s, but many want to choose their own cartridges.

And, I’m sure many who buy them did not realize the arm height is NOT adjustable and must be changed by shims which are NOT included.

We should help them do it RIGHT. 

I have to wonder how many people have 'too tall' cartridges, 16; 16.5; 18mm heights: without shims, thus VTA is wrong and they have no idea.

Rega cartridges have 3 holes, on their centerline, and are thus automatically aligned.

They also provide conventional slots for non-Rega cartridges

Now that I can see it large enough, I realize Rega only gives a single null point if you use a non-Rega cartridge

Can anyone measure from the centerline of the spindle hole to the cross point

This is just me ruminating on this whole thought process at bit.  Take this for what it is worth, probably not much.  Anyway, after giving this more thought than it deserves, it is my opinion that the whole Rega concept is short circuited if a non-Rega cartridge is mounted.  As I indicated in a previous post, I am interested maybe, in acquiring a Rega TT, if I find the right deal.  I am cheap so it has to be the right deal.  Anyway, were I to buy one it would definitely have to include Rega's top cartridge.  It is the package that is intriguing to me.  If I intended to use a different brand of cartridge, I think there are other more versatile turntables that would be considered.  But again, nothing on the market matches Rega's unique proposition if turntable and cartridge are considered together.

been working on the setup and got my first listen. Let me just say…..Holy Sh**!!! What an incredible difference! It’s like a whole new system. The stage, warmth and detail is unreal. I’m hearing guitar tones / notes never heard on some records and the realism on drum strokes is Beyond excellent . I used the print out protractor from Arc and all is aligned (at least to my eyes). I also used a digital scale and the weight set to 1.79G. Anti skate is 1.75(ish). So far I am beyond pleased with all your recommendations and help. 😎💯
