The Music Room is Slipping

I cannot recommend doing business with them any longer. They DEEPLY lowball you when you sell them gear and then forget all about the mass profits they made on you when you are looking to buy something from them, They offer to stand behind a purchase, yes... but the reality is that it is all about max profits on used gear and lack of any sort of support or consideration going forward. They are nothing more than a pawnshop for audio gear and I am done with them.

I have bought from TMR and was satisfied with the service and price. I’ve tried to sell to TMR also however I declined as the offer was low. They did suggest I try a private sale which I successfully did. I can’t complain about how that was handled

I just completed a consignment deal with TMR and it was a very smooth and easy transaction. They payed for my shipping (surely part of their fee) with their cut being 30%. They sold it for a couple hundred less than what I originally paid. When I listed my piece privately for a lot less money, I received no serious bites. TMR’s return and trade-in policy is a good benefit to buyers.

So all in all, I got $250 to $300 less than my private asking price considering I was going to pay for shipping and absorb any PP fees. I am okay with that.

Typically, I don’t chime in on these threads but it seems everyone here has an opinion and I’ll share mine. I have bought from TMR and can’t really complain. My transactions have gone smoothly. They will negotiate on prices, but lowball offers will likely not be accepted. Let’s face it, they’re in business to make money or they will go the way of many other former sellers. You probably know who I mean!

I have been a long time customer, and I do not notice much change.  Usually I can reach a deal with them as buyer or seller. Though sometimes I decide it’s better to sell myself, or buy elsewhere. I find their customer service excellent. I am willing to pay more because of their professional inspection and warranty. And, as all prices are stated upfront, no issues...
