Assuming you have a Windows environment
You will need to download and install the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (64-bit) as a prerequisite, unless you already have it.
The tool used to extract .dsf is called SACDExtractGUI, it is a Java applet, so you must install Java first before trying to run SACDExtractGUI.
The actual extraction application for Windows is called sacd_extract.exe, download the latest -107 version (scroll to the bottom of the page to reveal the assets), unzip if necessary, and place it in the SACDExtractGUI folder.
Launch SACDExtractGUI by clicking the .jar file. With Windows you might need to right-click it and choose Open with -> Java.
Once launched you need to specify the path to the sacd_extract.exe file in the Program field using the Browse button (overwrite what is pre-populated in that field).
Select the File radio button in the Input field, and use it's Browse button to locate and select the ISO you wish to extract from.
Select DSF and either Stereo, Multi-channel, or both in the Processing field.
Select an Output directory in the Output field for where you wish to write the extracted .dsf files.
Run the extract.
How to convert SACD_ISO files to DSF format
I have a HDD with 2100 hi-rez files which play fine on Roon except for the SACD-ISO files, which are not accessible. I just downloaded Audirvana which I understood will play SACD-ISO but it is not accessing them either.
I think my best option is to convert the SACD_ISO files to DSF files, and I'd like to figure out how to do it as a batch conversion as converting each of ~1000 SACD-ISO is waaaay too much effort. Any insights would be appreciated.
BTW, I kinda think the music I am hearing via Audirvana has a little more sparkle than with Roon. Any opinions on this observation?
