Whether or nor to get the new Vinylphyle stereo/mono 2-LP set is also of interest to those already owning one of the other previous stereo LP’s, such as the one Capitol issued in 1999. I have a copy, but it’s still sealed.
As for the stereo Analogue Productions pressing, I don’t think the recorded sound quality of Pet Sounds warrants the 45 RPM version, the 33-1/3 is sufficient. I believe both the stereo and mono AP’s are out of print, but still available from Acoustic Sounds at somewhat higher than original prices. How the AP and upcoming Vinylphyle versions compare remains of course to be seen (or rather heard
