PS Audio PMG Signature Preamp or BHK Signature Preamp or Bryston BP-19

I currently have the BHK preamp and am looking to upgrade.  Can anyone who has actually heard these preamps please give your opinions/comparisons?

I have only heard / owned the BHK preamp.  It had chronic noise in one channel that would not resolve with tube swapping, etc etc.  It is gone now.  I don’t feel the PS products are on par with many other comparably priced items.  But, could be completely wrong in respects to their new preamp.

Brystons are built like tanks, but to me are a bit lean or thin sounding.

Not what you asked, but Audionet preamps are magical, and opened my ears to true high end sound; much more dimensional and enveloping.  What is your budget?

Thanks for your response.  By budget is $7000 tops. I have the BHK and PS Audio  will give me $3000 towards the PMG.  Funny that you mentioned noise in your BHK, because mine is at PS Audio now for service due to noise.  It has a low level noise that is a constant fluttering sound.

I had the BP-19. It is true, it will not color the sound in any way and it is dead quiet letting the music come through clearly. Its precise volume control works well from the overbuilt remote.

The BP-19 convinced me that I did need a good separate preamp compared to my DAC/Pre setup.

What am I looking for? The BHK sounds very sweet & with a decent side to side sound stage, but is a little veiled & soft sounding. The minds are a little too thick & congested. Looking for better depth of sound stage, more open & better separation of individual instruments with more detail. I’m not opposed to a touch of sweeting. Would still like to retain a big full & rich sound.  I don’t want tubes.... Tired of chasing the depleted & pricey NOS stuff.
