It appears Andrew Jones has started his own company, "Jones & Cerreta" and will be showcasing a new speaker with a field coil concentric driver at Axpona.

I am excited to audit this speaker and talk to him at Axpona in a couple of weeks.

There are very pistonic drivers and German laser tools to measure cone movement vs input signal and output a very visual indication of that … my point is while I am hopeful duplicating the imo stellar Sonics of the Jones designed but made in Japan magic concentric driver will be no mean feat..,

it looks like the two brothers / partners are interesting cats - I’m hopeful

This looks promising except 1 thing, the Xover is the ♥️ or 🧠 of all loudspeakers ,I have over 25 years in Xover upgrades in helping friends as well as myself

Andrew always uses Chinese Xover parts in the past with Elac, and Mofi

he is a Brit. Why not use Clarity CMR capacitors ,Jantzen inductors and 1% quaility resistors his cost maybe $400  markup on speakers is rougly 4x  from R&D build and packaging before it gets to the dealers in truthno need to mark up Xover parts more then 25%  peciablly when they are getting at least 50% off retail.

having owned a Audio store I know 1st hand , Hopefully he will use quality,if they don’t show you then it’s nothing to brag about , Chinese  caps average at best !

Field coils in a true sense need to be blogged in with a transformer   To amplify the field coils , I owned Voxativ , I would guess around $10 k  if he wants to be fair

the drivers are made in China , which  they now have good engineering in mfg ,

I just hope Andrew puts European  Xover parts, China is lacking in That dept

being a Brit clarity Cmr caps would be perfect ,

I have been  doing this for 25  years it is the soul or ♥️ of all loudspeakers !
