Do You Regret Selling Your Turntable and Albums ?

I"m out of room for hobbies and we will likely be moving to a smaller home. I don't want to wait until the last minute to sell things. That didn't work out well last time we moved. Time to downsize. Again.

I enjoy streaming music and haven't played vinyl in over a year. Did you sell your TT and album collection and did you regret it ?

“Do You Regret Selling Your Turntable and Albums?”

Asked and answered as the saying goes.

Both adult sons getting into vinyl. Onward.

Hugely regretted selling my vinyl. The floor in our small place was a huge issue (not worth detailing) and I could not get my turntable to work properly. Wall mounting was a solution I did not explore. Dumped my vinyl for a song (ha!) then years later (retired) moved to a solid floor house, updated my system, got back into vinyl and have re-purchased and more… built up a new collection and I miss many of the hard-to-find (some impossible) disks I owned. The ritual, the sound… my latest system far surpasses my older system, Vinyl is almost therapeutic for me. Of course, we all are made of different stuff but if asking for advice… hang on to it for a bit longer.

I do somewhat regret but the sound is just not to my liking.  I tried it again, bought one TT for 500.00, not good, bought another for 1200.00, not much better.  I gave up and gave my buddy the albums back that I gave him years ago.

I moved away from vinyl and haven’t regretted it.  I don’t need to clean seeds and sticks anymore with edibles.  But seriously I kept the rare albums I collected but they’re in a box in storage.  CDs, BluRays and streaming now for me.

Nope. Switched over to CDs and SACDs decades ago and have never looked back. Now, I just spin discs and occasionally stream.
