Techniques 1200 g versus 1200 GR2 for small vinyl collection

If you can afford the SL 1200 G, please go for it. You won’t regret it. I have two turntables: a Technics SL 1200 GR with Ortofon cartridges and a Denon DL 103 with an MC preamp. It sounds heavenly; since then, I’ve bought 60 more LPs in addition to my original 400. I also have a Denon DP 3000 NE, which I can also recommend—it costs only 2,200 euros. What amplifier with MM/MC phono input do you have?

Take a look at the Technics SL 100-C. You might find it appropriate for your needs. I have a SL 1200 GR. I think it's a great table for the money. I do not need any of the DJ features, though. If the SL 100-C were available at the time I bought the GR, I would have bought the SL 100-C.

Another vote for getting a Fluance RT85, a phono preamp from Schiit Audio, and enjoy the albums you have.  That table punches way above its price point.   If you continue collecting vinyl, then upgrade your table and use the Fluance as a secondary table or a table to test the quality of any used albums you pick up.

You have an awesome set of components!  Do you use the Moon 891 as a streaming source into a line input on the Luxman 595 or do you use the Moon as a complete preamp plugged into the power amp input of the Luxman?  
With your setup, I would definitely recommend the 1200 G and the new Ortofon X30 cartridge - a tremendous value for a moving coil - and you have two excellent MC preamps at your disposal.  With all Technics having a head shell on the tonearm, splurge on a second head shell with a “beater” cartridge installed for all the used records you’ll soon be buying and borrowing.  I would suggest an Ortofon 2M Blue for that purpose, a great little cartridge. BTW, how do you like the Luxman 595?
