Accuphase, fuses

Hello,

Reaching out to owners of Accuphase amps and integrateds, and also digital components. Do you, or have you ever, tried to swap out the fuses with aftermarket fuses? I don't yet own Accuphase but am thinking about going that route. I see many photos online of the interior of Accuphase gear, but I see no obvious fuse holders. In fact, it looks like you would have to remove things in order to get in the vicinity of the power inlet. Which I am not about to do. If the fuses are inaccessible, that would almost be a relief. One less tweak to be done with. ;-)

Per SR in an email regarding directionality they recommend trying both direction to see which direction sounds best in your application.

 Hello, I have switched from the factory fuses to Hifi-tuning Supreme Diamond. My power amp P-4500 was updated, the effected was similar to use of a grade better power cable. I am at the point to put the Hifi-tuning Supreme Diamond into my Accuphase SACD and pre-amp as well. There is a quite easy to locate and replace the fuse in the power/pre amps. The fuse is easy detected after the bottom cover removing. There are only small screws around the entire perimeter of the unit. But I am stranded with the SACD. There are screws along the perimeter as well , but there are other screw of the same dimension. These screws copy the shape or perimeter of the laser unit. I can expect these screws can be removed without any impact to the laser unit to remove to bottom cover. Is there any opinion on decoupling the bottom cover of the Accuphase SACD? Many thanks in advance.

please get “one”, and listen to it “as is”!

believe me, Accuphase products are designed and manufactured w/o compromises, to last for decades, with almost no aging impact on SQ!
