TT Cable

Hi gang, I've not been around for a while, but I have returned after just sitting back and listening only for a while.  I have a quick question on a cable for a VPI TT from the pit box to the phono pre.
I have a known reputable dealer that owes me a "make good".  I originally went to him asking for a Cardas Clear cable and he want to give me an AQ Pegasus and Goody Ground instead.  His reasoning is that the rest of the system will match better with the AQ.
My initial thought is that if the AQ is better, should I just look to get the WEL Sig cable?  It seems odd to me to use a copper interconnect + ground instead a the silver wired TT cable.  He says it makes no difference because of the VPI pit box.

The desc of the TT is VPI Scout base with Prime platter, JMW9 Gimbal tonearm, Zephyr MIMC star; Signature feet. It connects to a Herron VTPH-2 then through AQ Thunderbird connect to ISO Base and Mogami XLR to Ayre EX-8 (currently upgrading to V2) and comes out Quatro CT Wood speakers cabled with AQ Rocket 44 bi-wires.

I'm also currently looking into upgrades on the TT and the pre, but that will be a different thread in the Analog section.

Thanks for your help - it's good to be back.

Casual Reader FYI: This thread would be easier to follow if everyone would refrain from abbreviating all the key terms.

Ha ha ha - I have no clue what YGTR means.

I probably should have mentioned that the XLR run is about 20 feet.  I did some research of past and current sales of shorter cables and concluded that, even used, those AQ cables are pretty expensive, and not easy to find at that length.

I did find some Shunyata Black Mamba 7' XLRs for $700, so I'm going with them for the time being.
