Seems right. I used to use $70/hour for labor as a minimum rough estimate, that was a decade to so ago. Also seems there are a lot less audio repair technicians/options available. |
so I am actually very nervous but you all might find this funny. The tech was older than anyone I had met or seen on the street in the last couple months. His shop was filled with so much staff, up to my chest, that only a small child or a very slim person could fit between the "isles". At this point I am worried how he will carry such a heavy item. He did seems knowledgeable though and in decent shape. I refrained from making silly comments, suggestions and all. I will again encourage my son to learn the trade. If this is the future of fixing used gear, the days of blissful audio (vintage or out of warranty) may be numbered. |
you HAD to ask @devinplombier ! I said "maybe a protection circuit?" He said: "no, if it was that, it would NEVER turn on". I said: "OK, sounds good, thank you".
