Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Hi Tom, Thanks very much for your response and information on the early models that had the Eminence 10" woofer and that the CS3 did not.

I did contact Gary and he indicated that he did not have the correct woofer or a substitute that he could recommend. He did say that he had contacted Eminence in the past to see if they could provide any specifications on to 10101, but they could not.

I did not realize the EQ was an option on the 03. I thought it was likely standard. I'm going to check with my upholstery guy and see if he may have one and forgot when I bought the speakers from him. Gary was going to check and see if he could find a schematic on it for me (and others). He did mention that I could use a standard EQ and likely accomplish the same thing as the early EQ's were fairly simple.

I searched for "10KPHG8GX" and got no results. Of course, it was likely long out of production before the internet. When I searched for "Vifa 10MD-19-08" I only got results for a 4-1/2" midrange driver Vifa K10MD-19-08.

Welcome! Good to see you here.  Nice score on those CS3 loudspeakers.

I will keep my eyes peeled for another CS3 speaker. What other gear and cabling are you planning? I look forward in reading more about your musical tastes.

Happy Listening!

Hello Jafant,

Thank you for welcoming me. It is a pair of Model 03 speakers that I have acquired. I am on the hunt for a set of woofers for them (Eminence 10101 or equivalent).

Once I have them restored, I will likely back them with a Juicy Music Blueberry (Extreme with Cream) preamp and a Musical Fidelity M6-PRX amplifier. I mainly listen to rock, pop, folk and soul from the 60's and 70's, but am not limited to these. Like many, I still enjoy the music of my youth.
