that was my plan exactly: to have a clue and tell the tech the behavior of the amp. Especially in my case it is highly likely that the fault(s) won't reproduce on site as they do at home. So if I can describe what happens in scenario A, B, C it would help the tech.
The financial part is very tricky, the tech's honesty is just as important as my presentation of having a clue.
Unfortunately with my last tech, any repair cost came out 10% below the price of the gear used/replaced. He had several pretty nice cars too, he knew how pricing "works" ![]()
