amp I bought 3 days ago not powering on - electrical engineer advice wanted

I bought a used Musical Fidelity A380 in good condition. Played it every day, worked fine.

Today it did not turn on. There were no sign of failure yesterday. Could it be a fuse or power supply?

@parkergetdean it doesn’t matter what’s wrong with the amp. Anything other than a fuse you can’t go in there. Sell it as is or use it until it dies. Turn it on and leave on.

Moving forward remember to tell yourself “I’m not rich enough to buy cheap”

Ebay, craiglist and facebook is where all the garbage lives. Sold by garbage collectors.

thanks @audphile1. I don't think it was garbage though, there is always risk with used. I have long known that buying cheap is expensive but have not always made purchases accordingly.

Nonsense.

Buying cheap IS cheap. However, a person needs to have a plan in case things go south. Which, in my experience at least, they seldom do.

Some people love the reassuring certainty that new gear purchased from a retail dealer will, instantaneously and as if by miracle, lose half of is value just by virtue of walking out the shop’s door, driving home, and breaking the sealing tape.

Oh wait, make that 75% if you’re selling to TMR!! 😂😂🤣

Ridiculous.
