JBL L100 Classic speaker posts

Is this not supposed to go into the post all the way? Or is it my speaker wire? Thanks!

The original JBL 100 lacked an inductor (coil) on the woofer to reduce its output to below 500hz. This was a significant flaw that hurt the overall sound. There is no benefit to running that 12 inch woofer fullrange. It is not linear in response past 500hz and adds distortion.

Hopefully the new version fixes this! There are re-designed crossovers available on The DIY site that fix the flaws of the old JBL 100. Make sure there is an inductor for the woofer on the crossover.

Go to the DIY site and look at a modified crossover. Next take a look at your L100's with the stock crossover to see if there is an inductor on the woofer. If not then get an inductor to replace the one on the stock crossover. That will be a significant improvement for the L100.

Some banana type plugs do not go into the posts all the way. The way you have it is fine. Loosen the post plug the banana in then tighten the post!
