Aimee Mann

just saw her last night. Had to wait 26 years but it was worth it. She sounded as good as ever.

Beautiful, moving voice and songs...

re "superior record."

it's hard to say which one would be my favorite because all her records are 70% to me, some incredible stuff and then the rest over the fence, so gloomy I have to turn it down. Magnolia was clearly a very clean powerful story, the movie couldn't be the same without it.
At the end, I think her songs are a vehicle to deliver that sweet inflection she can do with her voice, so I am just a fan of all her albums.

@yyzsantabarbara ironically she thinks her Till Tuesday contribution was poor and they just got lucky. But she is just too talented to call it luck

@parkergetdean I bet the concert was awesome.  I have her dvd of "Live at St. Anne's Warehouse".  I found it on eBay a few years ago.  It's very good.

I've been listening to Til Tuesday since they were a new group.  I still play their three albums on a regular basis.  The recordings are surprisingly good for that era.
