bdp24?

Haven't seen @bdp24 around since late October of last year. Anybody heard from him? Just hoping he's ok, I really enjoy his contribution to the forum.

@audiowin55 I spent a little bit of time going back through bdp24‘s posts. He had over 10,000 posts on this forum. In looking at some of his conversations it was very clear that he lived in Southern California. He spoke about audio shops he frequented and people he knew there. He described in much detail in a couple of posts the names of the people he knew (and shared hotel rooms with at audio shows over the years). being curious, I actually placed a call to one of them and left a message asking for a callback concerning the well-being of this person. I have not gotten a message back.

Hi fellas. Yeah, in late October some nogoodnick went into my Audiogon account, changed the email address from mine to his, and attempted to make some fraudulent transactions. I was dealing with the serious health issues of my two sisters, and until this past week was unaware of all this. By the way, the guy got the spelling of my last name wrong.

Tammy has been working on resolving the situation for a few days now, and just today (Thursday, 3-5) did so. My health is pretty good for a guy my age (75), but my sisters are not as fortunate. The 72 year old had a heart attack three weeks into October, and on the morning of the day she was set to be released from the hospital (alive, but with serious health problems) the 74 year old had a stroke and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. She spent a week there, and was then taken to a facility to recuperate. On November 1st she had a second stroke, and fell into a coma. The doctors said her brain was bleeding, and things looked not good. She lingered unconscious until the 16th, and passed away ten minutes after I and my younger sister had left the hospital from our nightly visit.

The two sisters were very close, and the 72 year old has taken her sister’s death very hard. In addition, she has all kinds of health issues herself. Her blood pressure is fluctuating from between below 100 some days to over 200 others. I have to drive her to a Cancer clinic every morning and afternoon for 1.5 hour infusion treatments. Three weeks ago she tripped walking from the clinic door to the car (in pouring rain), fell on the sidewalk, and broke her right arm. She’s right handed, so I’m now doing all the driving (multiple doctors appointment every week), grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc., and providing her with emotional support. Good thing I like her smiley.

Thank God for music and movies, ay?

@ bdp24

What are we doing up at this early hour??

Anyway, glad to hear you are ok and sorry to hear about all the illness your family has struggled with as of late.  Prayers for your family.

Technology can be great.....and such a pain when it goes bad. Glad Tammy has been of assistance in working this out.

Hope music has offered some peace in troubled times.
