How much do you have to spend?

To acquire a system after which spending additional $ would yield diminishing or marginal returns? How would you apportion the $ you spend to the various components needed?

A perfectly satisfying HiFi system can be assembled for $5K or less by hunting for gear on the secondhand market. I stopped buying new a long time ago.

5 grand total in a regular sized room

2.5 on speakers and sub

1.5 in integrated amp with streaming

1.0 on miscellaneous

used gear of course

My antivibration system sits on green jello blessed by bill cosby.it was the Olympic ice rink that cost me the money to keep it cool.straws are cheap just stick in the jello when your sugar goes down. I buy 95 % used traveled the usa in my truck and trailer and met alot of nice audiophiles. That was the best part. No real brick and morter in my state. Enjoy the music build your own cables it's fun burning your fingers with the iron.😃
