Everyone…Thanks so much for your responses. A lot of information to digest with the speaker recommendations. Eventually I will also be replacing the Rotel 1592. I have my work cut out for me reading reviews and opinions before eventually demoing my final choices. I’m very appreciative of all your feedback.
Speakers for room size that provide greater detail.
I’m looking at replacing my Wharfedale Super Lintons. The room size is 24’ length, and 14’ wide. Ceilings are 12’. My current listening distance is 15’ from my speakers. I have 2 Rel Classic 99 subs, running through a Rotel RA1592. Used for only playing music.
Want a speaker that is resolving at lower and loud volumes. Speakers that are more resolving than the Super Lintons at louder the volumes specifically. I am currently looking at the Kef R11 Meta, Kef Reference 1 Meta and Wharfedale Elysian 2. I would prefer a stand mount speaker. But open to a floor standing. Besides the speakers I’ve mentioned looking for other recommendations that I can read up on and demo in person. Thanks in advance.

@nucleardog61 My listening room is almost exactly the same dimensions with the exception of ceiling height. I've got a nine-foot ceiling. Speakers are a very personal, individual choice. All depends upon what YOUR ears like and how the speakers pair with your amplifications source. That being said, auditioning or demoing speakers in a room as similar to yours and with components as similar to yours as you can arrange will help you make the best choice. That being said, here are just a few brands that I think will be well worth your research and auditioning time: Revel, Monitor Audio, Klipsch, Sonus Faber, Aerial Acoustics, Dynaudio, Focal and PSB. Good luck! |
