@nucleardog61 echoing @soix a bit, the Joseph Audio Pulsars new are right in your budget - https://nowlistenhere.net/speakers/joseph-audio-pulsar2-graphene Aaron is a pleasure to deal with. I’ve not heard the Pulsars, but read up on them; they seem to be universally loved. I bought a pair of Perspective 2 Graphene from Aaron in December, and they are really impressive speakers for a room that is very similar in size to yours, but with lower ceilings (if you are willing to stretch your budget). Even though i suspect they are not fully broken in - i only had them delivered a few weeks ago, the clarity, detail, musicality and sound stage are staggering, near field or 15’ away. off axis performance is also very good. And they are really pretty small as floorstanders go.
And to echo @erik_squires , it may be a long shot, but the DALI Epicon 6s would also be splendid in your room, if you can find a gently used pair in your budget. (I did about a year ago, but it was definitely lucky.)
Also, I’d take @ghdprentice ‘s comments about your amp seriously. My Epicon 6s sounded very nice (albeit polite) with my prior amp (NAD M33), but only really blossomed with finer, more resolving and more dynamic electronics.
