recommends for interconnects?

Looking to replace old (and tired) MIT shotgun XLR interconnects between Mac 402 amp and Levinson pre and CD player.

there are so many cables and reviews and opinions out there. Looking for similar or slight improvement in sound, but under a few hundred dollars. Is that even possible?   1 meter with XLR terminating both ends.....

Ideas and thoughts much appreciated.

Is that even possible?

I will be honest and respond with, No.

You will get a flood of responses like, "I have been using cable X, and it sounds great", blah blah blah.  Cables in the few hundred $ range will be the entry and low-end models of most cable manufacture lines.  And considering that one has to go several models up from the entry-level to achieve any improvement over the $30 Best Buy model, save your money.

I am not at all a cable denier as will be very clear from my virtual system here.  But so many claimed / praised cables in these forums are downright junk.  Unless you're willing to go significantly up from a few hundred $, put your money elsewhere.

DHLabs would be a cost effective and extremely good sounding for the money. Get the highest tier you can.

DHLabs are my go to. I use them as my standards in between upgrades. They will not get you to the $3k level but probably a good improvement over the old MIT. I've had MIT in the past and well DHLabs are better at most levels.
