It's an easy market. After all, an expensive system deserves to get the best cables and you can't justify using 'basic cables' on such a brilliant system you engineered.

  “A smart man wouldn’t cheap out” is classic upsell psychology. It subtly suggests that if you don’t spend more, you must not be smart — which has nothing to do with whether the cable actually improves the sound.

Don't flatter yourself.

I once hooked up some speakers [$1600 bookshelf Monitors] using Romex cable, the same cable used to wire a home for electrical outlets.   I called it "Rom-ay" and invited some audiophile friends for a listen.   It was highly praised !   I have heard some great results using high end cables but this incident always made me wonder ---- and wonder -----------------------
