The Music Room is Slipping

I cannot recommend doing business with them any longer. They DEEPLY lowball you when you sell them gear and then forget all about the mass profits they made on you when you are looking to buy something from them, They offer to stand behind a purchase, yes... but the reality is that it is all about max profits on used gear and lack of any sort of support or consideration going forward. They are nothing more than a pawnshop for audio gear and I am done with them.

@curerate

$80 on $318 sounds outrageous, but context is essential and we all look forward to your providing same.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

@secretguy  now you be talking like orangeguy!!!  laugh

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

A statement that could only have been created before social media.

Well I'm spoiled we used to have a Wilson audio here in Tucson Arizona and Bruce Wilson was incredible he would let you try audition any gear in your home free for 30 days

when you traded something in he gave you a fair price and he'll sold it for 10% more than he gave you !

I agree it's a real cheap shot when somebody gives you a low price or something you trade in or sell and then they turn around and sell it for high. Certainly makes you feel like you're being used or taking advantage of.

so you know it was not doing it to make a ton of money

he always offered bargain prices on New gear and had superlative service and advice

He sold new gear for about the price of a big box store so there was no reason to go there

That's really exceptional that he would let you take anything he had home and try it out for 30 days ( after listening to it in the store first and being convinced you probably did really like it)

He even dealt with fairly low end stuff he would take on trade so us poor college students could get great gear and he'd  call me and let me know when he had something he  thought I might like. And if money was tight he holds something for 30 days to let me get the money but with the 30-day trial I could take it home then.

He said he rarely got burned and really enjoyed doing business this way and he made plenty of money because he made a lot of money doing custom installs and running wires.
