AricAudio's new Jackpot 5751 tube-rectified truly balanced preamplifier

AricAudio has just come out with its brand new preamplifier design called the Jackpot. It only uses one 5751, you can roll any version of 12AU7s, 12aX7s, or 12AT7s, as the signal tube and one 12AU7 as a buffer tube. It is tube rectified and is truly balanced from input to output, and it sells for $5600. I put the Jackpot on the 2025 "Most Wanted Components" list for Stereo Times and bought the review demo. It is a phenomenal musical line-stage and a tube rollers delight. Because you do not have to have a matched pair of signal tubes, it uses both plates of one, and there is only one buffer tube you can experiment with many different combinations to get exactly what sonic signature you want to match your personal taste. I finally ended up with using a NOS Mazda 1950’s silver plate triple mica (signal tube) and a NOS Bugle Boy 1950’s long plate (buffer tube) to get exactly what I wanted in my system! Last year I reviewed two other great preamplifiers that were at least double the price, but the Jackpot was at least their equal and exceeded them in purity of tonality and spatial qualities. My full review will come out in the next couple of months. You can go to AricAudio’s website for more details.

I’m sure it’s wonderful. After all,it’s an Aric Audio product. I’ve been an Aric Audo user since his days manufacturing tube buffers. In fact I still have it.

One thing to watch , look at pictures alps volume pots are not accurate and cheap $25 plastic wipers with a electrical film , if you see a silver can  it’s a alps or boune

a resistor ladder, relay type volume attenuator  sonicly superior , just something to keep an eye out for.

for many preamps take this short cuts ,and several Eric models do , check before buying !!

@audioman58 If by Eric preamps, you mean Aric preamps then please show me which several models use an ALPS. If you looked at this product, you would clearly see the Khozmo motorized controller. Also if you ask Arek from Khozmo which is sonically superior between resistor ladder and motorized silver plated pot contacts, he will state they are equal. He sells both and both are the same price, so this should tell you something. Thank you got your comment though.

All their preamps have a alps pot spend acouple hours looking at reviews ,Google image, on the front any round silver can is a give away over 65% of preamps have them cheap short cut ,my good friend Radu Tarta builds great tube preamps  and

said alps are a joke and I have seen graphs in distortion and not accurate

resistive ladder, relay is the way to go in product description some stated alps volume pot  a year ago !!

@audioman58  I don’t know who "their" is that you’re referring to, but all of MY preamps use Khozmo volume controls, perhaps you’re seeing ALPS on some of my older products- I don’t know, but the fact is you’re spreading misinformation on this thread by stating that I use ALPS pots- it’s simply not factual. Anyone actually checking out the product referenced in this thread can see that.
