Uber Amps - Are they worth it?

This was very well done I thought and struck a chord with me.

Your thoughts?

High end integrated amp assessment

Integrated at ANY level is going to have limitations vs. same brand LS/amp.

Personal ears & wallet are the judge.

Those "are they worth it?" YT's are worthless.

D' Agostino, Gryphon...of course their worth it-to the buyer who likes it.

I like my MIC, value integrated that sounds close enough to those amps priced like an entry level Hyundai.

We are playing with ridiculously priced toys at any level to non audiophools.

@tablejockey I agree worth is a personal thing.

What I found interesting is the summary of each of the amps considered and how each was different sounding in ways that might still appeal to many even at prices where you think things might start to converge. So clearly cost alone does not assure meeting one’s goals.   Things sound different at all prices.  Then there is also consideration for matching the speakers which obviously is a big thing still at any price.  Then of course the bling factor which will also matter for most.

If it brings you joy and pride of ownership, something you look forward to powering up every day, something you can sit back in your Herman Miller Eames chair to admire and lose yourself in the music, a big unadulterated YES.

I haven't heard a lot of uber integrated amps, but I did hear the Jadis i88 (link below) and it did make me rethink my path. I can't comment on the video.
