With all due respect, I do not see how you can accurately describe Huff as "measured". The number of times he's gushingly extolled something as his "new reference", only to quickly replace it with another "new reference" has, over time, rendered that concept meaningless. There's no reliable baseline because he's constantly changing out gear. He's entertaining but I can't take his pronouncements seriously.

@stuartk Yeah Huff gushes but I consider that part of the YouTube clickbait thing that anyone who does video reviews has to do. What I meant by measured is that he will go over the limitations of the item reviewed as well as the good points. When I go through his full reviews (both written and video), I have a pretty good idea where the items stands in relationship to other items previously reviewed or in terms of mid-fi, hi-fi etc. The business about his references isn't something I pay attention to because they are 5 figure products which is way more than I ever plan on paying for this hobby. I don't really follow his reviews on the expensive stuff but I could see your criticism if that is something you or others do. |
If we believe a $5 monoprice power cable that has undergone Veridian treatment that no one can articulate the process or ingredients of, sold for $250 beats power cords costing thousands of dollars, then I believe Steve was talking to Ozzy. |
The dead can speak...(it is proven by experience already : mediums OBE and a big litterature since Adam) And the sound can speak to... I had no problem with Huff... Any reviewers must sell... When we understand the way any reviewer use his selling points, and rhetoric, we can easily guess what is unspoken under his lines and between them... Then it is useless to disparage our own limitations in decoding on the messenger back... As i said, when i read about a product i use all "wise" reviewers not just the one i prefer...I even use Amir or cheapaudioman or sixmoons etc... But we must had learn how to read ,text and mind and even dead reviewers people impressions ...
