Recommendations for hearing aids

I am hoping to get recommendations for the best hearing aids for an audiophile. I am 20% down from 125 to 500 Hz and then gradually decreasing from 500 to 4,000  Hz at which I am 65% down and then 65% down through 8,000 Hz.

I started with a Dr.'s prescription for a test and a copy of the test report from an Audiologist.

I am lucky that Audicus has a NYC store I could go to, they have other locations, but not that many.

I took the 100 day risk free trial, and checked other options during that trial.

I joined Costco, because their hearing aid setup is very good, they now offer 4 brands (3 when I compared), the top models only. Price was significantly less than other sources.

The chargers and software you can control with a smartphone varies a bit.

My final choice was Audicus Omni Series 2, slightly more than Costco, they work best with my phone. After an initial period to get used to them, they were able to make an adjustment remotely.

A friend of mine recently had his hearing greatly compromised. The solution was a very close collaboration between he and his audiologist for fit and for the sonic settings. If you are having trouble making out and picking out speech from the background it is likely the solution will not be neutral as you might like for music but one contoured for speech recognition. I would recommend finding a good and sympathetic audiologist to work closely with to get the right product and fit. This isn't a commodity where you want to save money... you want a very customized personalized solution.
