The Music Room is Slipping

I've had all good experiences with TMR in the past both buy and sell.

Recently, they asked me about a preamp and upgraded SS amp I thought about selling, and I followed up just for grins.  Was not expecting anything really.  

Their one-up buyer said they could not even offer me "anything" on the matching set.  Firstly, due to some rarity and low volume production of these units - I suspect they might not have known much about it or the expensive upgrades from an industry pro.  And, Its also possible they have a glut of inventory right now. Might be a buyers market there right now.  Fwiw, don't be afraid to make offers right now with TMR - I'm thinking.  Worth a try, see what they do :)  

I’ve been working with Ryan at TMR and have gotten a fair deal on trade ins. When they low ball you, just turn around and sell it on your own. I’ve done that. 
Since I’ve been working with pretty much the same sales guy there, I normally get a decent deal. If not, I go elsewhere. I don’t take it personally. That’s what the competition is for - buy where you get the best deal. 

Good experiences. Tried other ways to sell and have had amplifiers lost and large speakers arrive damaged. I do not want to go through that anymore. If you don't get a fair price to your liking move on. Peace of mind is worth it. Staff is very quick and efficient

Some of you guys are chewing on sour grapes.

You actively sought out TMR to buy your gear from you. You, under zero obligation accepted their offer and sold it to them for x amount. You received payment. Case closed. It's no longer your gear, it belongs to them. They can put a price of  $1,000,000 on it or take it out in a field and burn it, not your business or concern. Yet, somehow you feel since they made a tidy profit selling it they somehow 'owe' you something if you do business with them again. Pretty silly to expect that.

Exactly. I've done that too. I've had a lot of success selling on sites like Audiogon, USAM.
