Power conditioners

Seems that engineers who work in industries that demand actual control or reduction in EMI/RFI and other things, use industrial power filters that actually do what they claim to do and they have the measurements to back it up. The Shunyatas and all the rest of the audiophile associated pieces that are basically a fancy power cable receptacle, rely on what they hear (and any objective, rational person knows that is 100% subjective and not valid). Read about it here

I use some entry level Panamax and Furman power conditioners ($200 to $300) range. What I noticed is mostly how much my video improved with reduced artifacts and halos. I also found that some grounding issues I have with my ancient two wire home circuitry were eliminated with these two conditioners. As far as sound improvement, I don't think my 70 year old ears and mid-fi system could reveal the difference with a four figure conditioner.

Thanks for the thread , I’ve always found this topic interesting. I had the usual entry level stuff like Monster and the cheaper Furman. I’m currently using a Richard Gray 600 with a Shunyata Venom HP 20 amp cord. The only noticeable improvement came when I replaced the original Richard Gray cord with the Shunyata, the improvement was very noticeable. I’ve always been curious about the Tripp Lite units, at $500 they interest me. FWIW I have a new service panel , dedicated lines and Hubble outlets. All my cords are aftermarket but having done all of that incrementally over time I never experienced an Ah Ha moment except for the Shunyata cord. FWIT my brother plays guitar and runs tube amps. He recently got on a regulated voltage kick, apparently in guitar land some are very concerned about voltage variations that affect sound or damage gear. My video gear is on a seperate circuit and the Monster power filter I use as a junction box reads from 117 to 122 throughout the day. Regards , Mike B.

A good power conditioner allows you to run your comb through your cables and gives them that nice sheen.

Well, the attached article does appear to be more or less an ad for OnFilter and their line of CleanSweep products.  Nothing new about  their product does nothing but our product does everything style of article.  One thing I did agree with 100% was this.

"When conditioners are used successfully, they are typically industrial-grade devices. For instance, users who measure performance point to lab-oriented equipment, e.g., Elgar units designed for test environments, or balanced-power installations such as a 10 kVA Equi=Tech transformer".

And it's just a coincidence that I have an Equi=Tech 5RQ step down transformer in my system.  🤣

I have the furman 20 I because we have alot of power spikes and it has served me well.they have 60 amps of reserves for the big kw amps for transients. Happy listening.
