Advice on choosing speaker cables for vintage Altec Model 19 speakers

I'm putting together a vintage system for a Japanese-styled Kissa Listening bar. So far I have a pair of Altec Model 19 with the Werner Jagusch crossovers for the mains and a pair of Klipsch Heresy II for the back fills. These will be driven by two Liine-Magnetic Tube amps.  I'd like some advice from those who have used or are using the Altecs on choosing the right speaker cables for this vintage styled system.

We have a pair of Altec VOT A7-8 which are an older model of the 19s. Rented several brands of speaker cables from the Cable Company and have found the Shunyata Research Gamma Speaker Cables the best. Tried silver threaded cables and found they don’t match well with the horns. The Gammas are pure high grade copper and give a full, rich, and slightly warm sound. We listen to all genres of music, mostly smooth jazz. good luck with your choice.

I should add that in the US "listening rooms" aren't the same as in Japan where critical listening goes on. This will be more of a restaurant atmosphere where converation and cocktails dominate. That said I want the music to sound good and not just be a visual thing.

Well, you haven’t mentioned the length of cables you will need. Some good quality shielded 10 to 12 gauge would do fine. Solid core, not stranded if the installation allows. Don’t over think this. Figure out the length, calculate the resistance and choose the wire. I really doubt your customers have the ear that you do. And certainly not in the environment that you intend on presenting!

Audioquest in Irvine has bulk spools of in wall rated wire . Let us know when this place opens. I’m going to do a Jazz Kissa pop up in Seattle this Summer… there will be wine and Japanese whiskey

I have not used model 19's but have used, still use Valencia's, 8309 and currently model 14's. I've tried mid-tier Nordost (red dawn) and found them lean sounding,

16 ga. delund and thought they sounded a little thick. Currently using Kimber 8tc in double runs and seems to have the balance I was looking for. Good luck on your project.
