Most Paid for Vinyl LP

For me $54 new for best of Nickelback. I pay about $27 for new LPs, I rarely buy used but when new is not available I buy near mint used and have had good luck with perfectly quiet used.

I think it was around $250. I’ve been collecting for years now. Most of my collection is cataloged on Discogs — about 1,500 albums — with probably another 1,000 still not inventoried. For some time, my plan has been to set up a store on the platform.

It’s fun (and a little wild) to look at the value of your collection on Discogs: the low, median, and high estimates for each record, and then the total value of everything you own. The high price often feels like the “someone thinks they might get this” number — or a price set by someone who isn’t really expecting to sell. The median price tends to be much more realistic.

Discogs also sends out a monthly email highlighting the highest-priced item sold that month, and the numbers can be astounding. For example:

If you haven’t done it yet, set up a Discogs account and start inventorying your collection — it’s worth it just for the insight alone.

Well i bought the Doors 2008 Rhino box set ...new on Audiogon for $300 last year. Its killing me not to buy the one that came out last year....but I'm  DONE BUYING VINYL...........

I have an album that I would HATE to have to buy. 1964 Beatles Hard Days Night. Sealed. Signed by all 4 Beatles. Shrink-wrapped after signing. Test pressing 2/10. I have it in a safety deposit box. Gifted to my mother at Columbia Records pressing plant, Santa Ana CA.

Yesterday the Rhino set of Coltrane 1960 to 1964 was delivered. It cost @$43 per lp. I looked up the $ conversion of 1970's $, when I was paying $6 for an imported classical album, to the current inflated $, which is $50.30. I am only collecting 1920 to1960 mono lps to give me more variety for my mono table setup. My 6000 stereo lps is enough, and with my 4000 silver discs and streaming I don't need more clutter. By the way the Coltrane set sounds stunning with the widest dynamic range and master tape presence. Recommended.
