@socalml528 The worst thing about Better Records is that they don't hold their value at all in case you want to get rid of them in the future. They only look at original pressings and think all remasters don't sound as good, which is ridiculous.....it depends on the record and the pressing. I'm sure some of them sound great, but when one is reissued as a UHQR for example, you won't have the best sounding record and since they don't carry new records, you'd be stuck with it.

I think it was around $250. I’ve been collecting for years now. Most of my collection is cataloged on Discogs — about 1,500 albums — with probably another 1,000 still not inventoried. For some time, my plan has been to set up a store on the platform. It’s fun (and a little wild) to look at the value of your collection on Discogs: the low, median, and high estimates for each record, and then the total value of everything you own. The high price often feels like the “someone thinks they might get this” number — or a price set by someone who isn’t really expecting to sell. The median price tends to be much more realistic. Discogs also sends out a monthly email highlighting the highest-priced item sold that month, and the numbers can be astounding. For example: If you haven’t done it yet, set up a Discogs account and start inventorying your collection — it’s worth it just for the insight alone. |
