Looking for a DAC $2500-$4000

Okay the digital part of my 2.1 system consists of a Line Magnetic 845 Premium Tube Amp, Tekton Encore Speakers, Cambridge CXN V2 Streamer, and an Oppo 205.

I'm running the Cambridge through the Oppo 205 to use it's DAC.

The Cambridge has a nice DAC that has been described as an every man's Streamer. It has a musical more analog sound to it.  The Oppo's DAC is more detailed but also sounds more analytical or clinical.

What I am looking for is something that can be both on a higher level.

The reviews I've read about the Musical Fidelity M6x DAC ($2500) seems to be what I'm looking for.

Do any of you fine lovers of Streaming have any suggestions that I might add to my list to research? In the $2500 to $4000 range. Thanks for the help.

Those of you who have recommended the Gustard R30. It doesn’t come with WiFi. I am currently using a Cambridge CXN V2 that also doesn’t have WiFi internally but it came with a WiFi dongle that gets plugged into a USB slot and allows WiFi usage.

Will a WiFi dongle work with the Gustard R30?

Fear not, you have two very good and relatively inexpensive options.  Get a Wi-Fi extender and run an Ethernet cable from that to the Gustard, or for a little more you could get a Mesh setup and run a cable from the Mesh node to the streamer.  Lots of people here have done this with great results.

@meambler wifi is common in consumer products, whereas enthusiast products  have ethernet ports as standard because its more reliable. Its cheap to use a pair of Ethernet over Powerline adaptors and pretty well behaved if you have only the 1 pair in use. As to streamer endpoints, if you are using Qobuz exclusively, Holo Red and Sonore ultraRendu both support Qobuz Connect with their current software.

My Cambridge CXN V2 just update it's software and now has Qobuz Connect.

I sometimes use WIFI but I mostly use my iPad and a USB connection.

Thanks for the streamer recommendations.

My extended search to look at DACs that can created using my usual method for acquiring Audio Devices led me to a DAC Build that is evolved as the design over a few years.

A version of the DAC will be a Monoblock, and this does have great appeal as a concept. It will fit comfortably into the design for the assembly of my system.
