What speaker is the most musical, one you never want to sell?

I've ran into a few "permanent" components over the years,

I'm wondering what are the most satisfying speaker you've owned?

Coming from a pair of the original Ohm F speakers in the 70’s and then a pair of Martin Logan Sequels with a few more in between I am now very happy with my Focal Sopra 2’s. Matched with a McIntosh MC462, Backert Labs Rhythm 1.3, LUMIN U1, Aqua Acoustics LaScala DAC. The sound is true to life. I must emphasize that I listen in a closed door dedicated media room.

My best all around speakers are the ones I have now. I bought a pair of Sonus Farber Amati G5’s.  I’ve owned more than  a dozen speakers from the really small ADS-300’s to some Maggie’s and some Acoustat X’s to the Dahlquist DQ-10’s modded with Decca ribbon tweeters and the Amati’s are almost perfect for me. Sometimes I wonder how they would sound if I replaced the tweeters with planer or electrostatic ones. Then I laugh at the absurdity doing it and move on, but…..

I owned a pair of Mirage M3 speakers, these were some of the most musical and impactful speakers I had listened to in the early1990’s. By the early 2000’s I switched to a pair of Dynaudio Contour 3.0’s and I still have them today! Incredible quality and sound!

Hello all,

My Dahlquist DQ 10s purchased new as a mirror imaged pair in 1980. Retired them for a few years while I tried others.  Pulled covers off of them about 8 years ago and refurbed them with the Gold kit from Regnar-Dahlquist in NY and built pair of spiked stands for them.  Use them for music only as I have another rig for home theater.  Every time I listen to them it’s a pure pleasure. I’ve always enjoyed their transparency and musicality. They like power but that’s not a problem.
Enjoy the music

I would never sell:

thiel 2.4 (purchased 2004) paid 4x

Bryston 4b (purchased 1990, recapped 2022). paid 2K

Threshold FET 9 preamp, purchased 1989. paid 2K

Guesstimating replaceing the above with new components would cost 15K easy.

I would like to create a second system with magneplanars 2.7i. Would be in the basement. No way wife will allow a 6ft tall speaker in the living room with the main stereo.
