Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista DAC vs T+A DAC 8 DSD

I'm considering a Nu-Vista Mac and T+A DAC 8 DSD.  Leaving aside the price, since the Nu-Vista is a newer design, is it likely to perform better than the DAC 8? I'm just trying to find a DAC that has good resolution, but is not clinical.  My budget is about $6,500.00 (I have a lead on a used Nu-Vista).

Thanks in advance to any and all who reply.

@noob504 Sure happy to help. Don't get me wrong, I bet you could do a really great system based on the MF. It just seems like it would need a more specific system to sound its best while the DAC 8 is pretty universally appealing.

I've audition the DAC 200 - it's an amazing dac, but I found the low frequencies to be a little too soft.

Interesting!

What were the rest of the components in the system you listened to?

Hi @milpai

My Source is an Aurender N10;

Current DAC: Luxman DA-06;

Preamp: T+A P 3000 HV;

Speakers: Kef Reference 1 Meta;

Subwoofers: 2x Rel Carbon Special

@noob504 , did you audition the T+A DAC 200 in your system OR a different system. If it was a different system, I was asking about that. My guess is that something else in that system might be off. I own the T+A DAC 200 for more than a year and soft is not even a word that comes to mind while playing music through this DAC.
